Nolan Gallery

The Nolan Gallery Collection began in 1974 with a donation of 24 paintings made by Sir Sidney Nolan (the Foundation Collection). Included in this Collection are the first Ned Kelly painting and the first in the Burke and Wills series.

Throughout his life Nolan continued to donate works to the Nolan Gallery, and these comprise the Nolan Gallery Collection. It includes the complete series of 'For the Term of his Natural Life', the 'Rimbaud/Cezanne' drawings, the 'Rimbaud' paintings, and selections from the 'Illuminations' series, the 'Computer Graphics', 'Spirits and Effigies', 'Remembrances of My Youth' and 'Aboriginals'. Selections from these works are exhibited from time to time.
