State Records New South Wales

State Records NSW holds many tens of thousands of photographic images from the late 19th Century to the present. The images capture life in New South Wales in much of it richness and diversity, from the beaches of Sydney to the rural areas of country New South Wales. The photographs have been created by, or on behalf of, NSW Government agencies in support of their official business, and than transferred to State Records for permanent retention as State archives. Our digitisation program aims to bring many of these hidden images to light through our online database Photo Investigator . This is an ongoing project, with new images being progressively added to the database.
