Can I see a larger copy of an image?
Yes, higher resolution copies of the images are displayed on the owning organisations’ websites. To see the image on their website:
- Click on the image in your search results and then click on the
view image at… link, or the image itself.
I have found an image I like – How do I know who owns it?
There are three ways to find out who owns an image:
- Reading the name of the organisation which is displayed under the image, e.g. National Gallery of Australia
- Click on the image and read the details in the ‘Managed by’ section on the ‘More information’ page
- Click on the
Request a copy link to see the organisation’s ordering details on the following page
Who should I contact to update a caption or provide more details for an image?
We value your input into improving our collections. There are two ways to add information:
- Find who owns the image and send that organisation an email with the information.
- Send Picture Australia an email, which we will forward on your behalf to the relevant organisation.
Please make sure you include details for the image, such as record number or the title. The image will take approximately one week to refresh with the correct information.
How can I find out more information about a particular image in Picture Australia?
For more information, you can:
- Find out who owns the image and then contact the organisation directly.
- Contact us with your question and we will forward your request on to the relevant organisation.
